Concept
The Geneva Platform of Empowerment for Peace and Humanity launched the Centre of International Law Studies in the Middle East (CILS-ME) as a legal research and policy think tank.
The purpose of this think tank is to conduct studies, researches, policy papers, issue journals and articles on contemporary issues relating to Public International Law relevant to the Middle East. The think tank will be based in Lebanon and will be supervised by the Academic Advisory Board of the Geneva Platform.

The Geneva Platform touched upon deficiencies and scarcities in studies and publications in the topics that the perceived think tank is aimed at covering, coupled with a tangible lack of expertise in the different fields of International law. The importance of filling this gap lies in the fact that region faced and is still facing challenges and dilemmas that stem directly from various topics of international law that require answers. Through this research institute/think tank the Geneva Platform aims at:
Aims:
With several programs actively developing the knowledge of young researchers in the Middle East, coupled with future programs following these exact same designs promulgated by the Geneva Platform, the think tank aims at:
1- Providing the opportunity for these elite individuals to contribute to the realization of a sustainable peace, and to uphold the shared values of humanity, good governance, human rights, accountability etc. for the benefit of their society.
2- Envisaging an essential role, played by graduates, academics and researchers in the aim of developing their country and an authoritative role played by the think tank in the field of international law.

The Think tank shall publish the papers submitted, under the supervision of the Academic Advisor Board of the Geneva Platform, by qualified researchers and academics. Publishing shall be in the following frequency:

- Attempting to fill in this gaps by tackling contemporary questions of international law faced by countries of the Middle East and attempting to provide answers and recommendations through policy papers which will be placed at the disposal of all interlocutors, interested individuals, institutions and the governments.
- Contributing to the implementation and development of the field of international law in the Middle East and providing support to all those actively involved in issues relevant to international law, with the support of Platform's partners in region and Europe.
- Instigating research and strengthening involvement of qualified researchers, graduates and academics in studies of international law for the purpose of placing their scholarship on the map of international scholarship.
